A clear daily workflow

From the care plan to a useful history—step by step.

Nora follows the way care actually happens: set the current plan, build trusted foods and recipes, prepare the meal, record what was consumed, and keep the family’s history organized.

The Nora workflow

Five connected steps that reflect what the family is already doing.

Nora does not require the family to change the clinical process. It gives that process a clearer, faster, and more consistent home.

Important: The plan entered into Nora comes from the child’s care team. Nora organizes and calculates against that plan; it does not decide what the plan should be.
01

Set up the patient and active plan

Enter the clinician-provided ratio method, targets, limits, schedule, effective date, allergies, and household instructions. Future changes create new versions instead of rewriting the past.

02

Add the foods and recipes the family actually uses

Search possible products, scan a barcode, enter a package label, or create a custom food. Confirm exact nutrition and build reusable recipes by weight.

03

Plan and prepare the day’s meals

Choose saved recipes, duplicate familiar meals, and follow a guided preparation screen that shows one ingredient and target weight at a time.

04

Record what actually happened

Confirm what was prepared, served, consumed, left over, or wasted. Nora recalculates the consumed nutrition instead of assuming the entire planned meal was eaten.

05

Review, coordinate, and report

See meals, measurements, symptoms, events, and notes in one timeline. Share a weekly report or export structured history when the family needs it.

Read the weight from the kitchen scale, then enter the actual prepared amount before continuing.

During preparation

The app should lower cognitive load—not add another complicated screen.

The preparation view is designed for a kitchen tablet or phone beside a normal gram scale. It does not pretend to read unsupported hardware.

One ingredient at a time

Large targets and clear steps are easier to follow while hands are busy.

Confirm actual prepared weights

The family can record small differences instead of treating the planned value as exact.

Preserve the recipe version

The meal remains connected to the food and recipe data used that day.

After the meal

“Planned” and “consumed” are not the same record.

Nora makes it quick to say everything was eaten, nothing was eaten, or only part of specific ingredients was consumed. The calculation engine then produces a separate consumed snapshot.

  • Use served amount as consumed when the full meal was finished.
  • Enter a percentage for the entire meal when only an estimate is available.
  • Adjust individual ingredients when precision matters.
  • Record whether the amount was weighed, estimated, or percentage-based.

Active days
Five meal records included partial consumption. Two appetite notes and three ketone measurements were recorded alongside the meal timeline.
At the end of the week

Turn daily details into a report without reconstructing the week from memory.

The weekly report separates recorded facts, calculated values, caregiver notes, and any optional assistant-generated observations.

When the care plan changes

A new ratio or target becomes a new version—not an edit to history.

Nora keeps the effective dates and calculation context around each meal so older records remain understandable.

Current plan
The active plan is automatically attached to newly planned meals.
Future change
A caregiver enters the new clinician-provided plan with an effective date and any transition instructions.
Existing recipes
Nora can flag recipes for review under the new plan. It does not silently rewrite their quantities.
Historical meals
Past meals retain the prescription, recipe, food versions, and calculation results used at the time.

A calmer workflow from the first ingredient to the weekly report.

Nora keeps each step connected so the family can spend less time reconstructing details and more time using them.
